Update on Film Project

Hello

On Thursday and Monday my group (Cassi, Brittany, Nabeela and I) met to discuss our film project. After dismissing the idea of doing a music video for our movie project, we started brain-storming another idea that Nabeela thought of.

We thought about her idea for a while and created a plot while combining all our concepts. We had a few laughs and decided that it was a perfect plot for our film project. On Monday we worked together to create basic (very basic) story boards.

All our dates are set, our actors and actresses employed (haha -they won't be getting paid) and we even know where our set of the film is.

I am so excited that we have a plot and hopefully the audience finds it as funnny as we do. Now, all that is left to do is to write a script and begin rolling the cameras!!

I really hope the other groups have created a basic plot from which the will work from.

Progress Report :)

Hey Guys!

So I think the comments are getting to long on that progress one ... so I rate that we update in new posts (it's also much more fun :D)

So ... Progress Report:
Our group (Kim, Sam, Alex and myself) spent Saturday together talking about our film. We have our idea set in stone and we have decided on outfits, parts, lines, etc. We had such an amazing time! And, to add to it all, it was the most beautiful day! We could sit OUTSIDE and soak up the sun while working! Summer is almost here ladies! :)

But ... I just wanted to remind you guys to keep at it. I know I don't only speak for myself when I say that we were totally inspired and we didn't want to leave when we had to!

Keep on keeping on! Love you all :)

Collaboration is beneficial to all.

One of the best ways of learning is by sharing any useful information or ideas that you have found helped you. Any useful tips which you have to offer each other will enable all of us to benefit. Remember that you are not restricted to commenting: you can create your own postings in which you upload helpful information that would enable all to make the very best films you as amateur film directors can.

Writing a storyboard

When Nicola Suttle (2010 head of our Film Society) started the teaching of film, she would very often show us a video clip to get us started and then we would have an opportunity to apply what had been taught.

One of the first things that we did in our film society meetings was create a storyboard. This is a four-minute explanation of how to create a storyboard from Videojug. They also provide a template for a storyboard which you might find helpful in organising your film.

For those of you who are feeling desperate and don't know where to start, this might help a little bit.
